Info Post
I have been collecting items to build a deck at the tiny beach house on wheels.  This has taken some time because it is in between trips to Charleston, work and another trip to San Diego in the near future.

I do not have a truck so carrying 8 foot decking in a small car takes some time and many trips.

We got an estimate for a deck for the tiny beach house on wheels and it wasn't money we were willing to
part with, sooooooo it was idea time.  If you look at Pinterest you will see dozens of projects with pallets.
One of those was a deck,  so I decided to use what I had available (and free) to build the deck.

It took several months to amass ten pallets of the same size, with a little help from my cousin I was able to do so.  My son helped me get them to the beach.

All was going well until the threat of rain came along this week.  I didn't want the boards I had already to warp, so I had to start the project early.  Here are the deets:

I decided to use fencing to make a "box" around the pallets.

I put two pallets side by side and screwed in eight fence slats on top.  This secured the pallets together.

It didn't help in the middle of the project to find out that the dead bolts on the TBHW door had decided to malfunction.  This locked me out of the trailer, which held every key I had inside.  Bummer.  With some help from Karen the owner of the RV park, we got the trailer open.  So along with buying more fencing in the morning, I need to get a new lock.  Oh yes, and do some actual work.  Double bummer.

Day two of the project.  I got a new lock and installed in myself! Mermaid power!  I also had to get more fencing boards.  I had a full day today and didn't get home in time to start this evening but here are some pics I took this AM.

The project still looks a bit messy but I was still pretty proud of me this morning.

These will actually be sitting differently when the project is all done.  It is easier to drill in the screws on level concrete but once I get these all finished they will turn short side to the TBHW.   Stay tuned for day three!
