I am on a small adventure. The adventure itself isn’t small. It is, in fact, quite large. The small part is that I am trying to make large parts of my life…smaller. Smaller amounts of clothing in the closet and drawers, smaller amounts of things I have too much of…that sort of smaller. The adventure is large, each step is small.
This is on my mind constantly these days. What can I make smaller? What can I have less of? So it may be a natural extension that I have become increasingly aware of the smaller things all around me.
I was spending quite a bit of time up on top of red rocks in Sedona the past couple of days soaking up the energy. There were small things scurrying past me everywhere. The tiny little squirrel, the small little fuzzy animal that looked like a squirrel but wasn’t, small little quail running through the underbrush, all were small.
In the scheme of things I was small also. When standing on the side of the Grand Canyon, how could one not feel small or not be awed by the enormous work of nature in front of them. Whatever you call your Deity, this amazing natural monument surely had to be carved out of the earth by them.
