Info Post
I have finally reached the shelves I dreaded the most in my kitchen.  The cookbooks.  I love books
of any type but cookbooks are my absolute favorites.  Up until a few years ago, I had several from
childhood still on the shelf.  Those now reside in my daughters homes.  They cannot reside at the beach,
there will be no room.

In my later years the collection has centered around french cuisine.  I have several I purchased in
France that are in french.  It is great fun to cook from the books just to see if  I can decipher the ingredients.

My most treasured books are the Julia Child books.  I remember watching her on TV as a child and
wondering how she learned to make so many things and why did she sound like that?  I am ashamed to
admit that I all but forgot about Julia as a young adult.  My job reacquainted us just before she became all
the rage via the blog and movie Julie and Julia.

I began to rifle through the books knowing immediately which would stay, which would go to a daughter and which went to the sale in April.  I looked through each, told them I loved them and said goodbye.  I
hurriedly stuffed them into a box and shut the lid...no going back now.

I will miss my cookbooks, I am sure.  There will come a time when I am remembering a recipe and realize it is one of my long gone comrades.  I will have to content myself with the memory of the dish and the glossy photo that went with it.  I have planned for this event carefully, I know how to make eclairs.  Nuff said.
