Info Post

I recently read a book called "Where'd you go, Bernadette?"  In essence, Bernadette couldn't quite get it together after an incident that happened 20 years ago.  She just checked out from life.  In the end she figures this out and gets back on track...happy ending.

Have you ever just wanted to check out?  Just for a little while? Being here is a lot like checking out for half the day.  First half, real world.  Second half, beach world.  Since the first pays for the latter, I cannot complain. I guess I have fully acclimated to beach living. I am here more than there (our home of the last 15 years) and plan to keep it that way.

I have absolutely acclimated to living with less.  The amount of clothing I have here has dwindled to the barest minimum.  I finished most of the art projects I brought with me in the beginning and what I didn't want to do I gave away.  Even in a space with less, I can lessen.

The herons and egrets outside my door are better than television and served as the inspiration for my first big beach project.  The constant fly overs by pelicans and ducks always thrill me just like a six year old. I am painting again, experimenting with styles and colors, without any judgement...just doing.

I can do this because I have nothing to dust, no yard to mow.  Making the bed often consists of shutting the door between the tiny bedroom and the tiny living room.  I am a geriatric teenager.

As you can see above, I have renamed the TBHW (tiny beach house on wheels) Lee's Landing.  It has taken almost a full year to get a good balance between work and non-work.  I have landed...think I will stay awhile.
