Info Post
My aunt commented on my article "Living Like Elizabeth", she stated her mom was "pure essentials."
I began to think about the difference in pure essentials to me and pure essentials to Elizabeth.  What would the difference be?  How big was the chasm be between us? Probably pretty large.
600 thread count sheets are an absolute must. I even take ours on vacations that are longer than a few
days. When I say I am going to live with less, I certainly didn't mean less thread count. I am here to chronicle our journey to less...but, less with luxe. Well, bohemian luxe anyway.

I have several foodie items that I cannot part with.  Two white porcelein french onion soup cups with lion heads on the side.  The soup just doesn't taste the same without them.  There is something satisfying just looking at those cups full of onion soup with crusty bread and melted Gruyere on the  top.  I am back in Paris every time we use them.

The next oddity is my white porcelein (hey, white goes with everything!) escargot plates.  They are small, each holds six of the tiny wonders soaked in butter and crusted over with parmesan cheese made crisp under the broiler.  Yep, an absolute essential

My white dishes look brilliant against the french scroll blue and white tablecloth, so that stays also.

The blue Talavera salt and pepper shakers, the butter dish and glassware we purchased in Cabo are also
non negotiables.  You are beginning to feel sorry for my poor hubby aren't you?  This woman is very
stubborn, you muse.   I planned ahead for just such an occasion, I bought hand blown rocks glasses in Mexico,  he will be just fine on the deck at the beach.
