The relentless drive to rid myself of stuff continues. I took advantage of my family being in town to
parcel out a few possessions and then started again. The pile in my foyer has grown to monumental
hieghts, all stacked neatly in beer boxes I culled from work.
I shifted my focus to outside the house, As usual, we have three sets of seating, swing, fireplace, bench
and a million pots. April 7, 2012, the day of the yard sale, cannot come fast enough. My personal yard
sale divas, my oldest daughter and her BFF always do a great job. I don't even have to be there.
But...I do have to get it there, yuck! This is a ton of stuff! So far I have three chairs, one couch, two
vintage buffets, a credenza, a large desk, and the mountain of bric a brac in the foyer. Just writing all this makes me feel lighter, less encumbered. I have to ask myself, why?
Is it my tender age of 56? I am an aging boomer after all. Is it a job that takes me away most of the time?
I don't feel the need to dust and preen over possesions on my free time. Article after article about this subject has yet to reveal to me what the drive really is to accomplish this. In the back of my mind a clear picture of two old folks in a VW bus is emerging...
So back to my liquor cabinet, my clean out for the morning. A word of advice here, never buy Strega or
Galliano, both are nasty buggers. Don't collect vintage Crown Royal glasses. Stay away from bar gadgets.
Last but not least, come to this sale and buy all this stuff!
