Info Post
In seven days most of our worldly possessions will be on sale in a front yard in the west end of Beaumont, Texas.  The house seems almost cavernous at this point.  The entire formal living room is empty.  Wow.

There will need to be a second purge once the house sells but for now we have reduced our material
mania by 2/3rds.  The Victorians used to call shopping and their lifestyle Conspicuous Consumption.  The purchasing of endless bric a brac to put next to the endless bric a brac they already have.

All for the sake of having it and showing it off.  This thought process is alive and well today if one was to believe the endless magazines in stores that proclaim shabby, romantic or vintage on the covers.

I am heavy duty into research about living a life with less.  Living in 400 square feet or less requires a certain
mindset most folks don't have.  The trick here is to not begin regathering once the stuff is gone.  I still love
going into Pier One, Kirklands, Home Goods, flea markets and antique shops.  I am getting used to walking out with the just "the experience."  It is a feeling I am getting high on more and more.

With that said I have decided to continue collecting a few things:
