Info Post
Every time we spend time in Todos Santos we run into expat Americans, brave souls who have chucked it all and moved to Mexico.  The first time you run into one of these brave souls a tingle runs down your spine.  Could I possibly be this brave?  Do I have the right stuff?

Here are four of the reasons I never could just throw it in and move to another part of the world.  There are four more but they couldn't make this trip.  I would miss them and the children that produced them...my own children.  I often wonder if any of the expats left children behind?

After today I know that there is probably another reason.  I love air conditioning.  My youngest grand daughter noted that none of the stores they visited had coolers.  She is right Todos Santos is notorious for
sweat shop temperature stores. First visit you roll the Mexican way, second visit you spend more time in bars, third visit you sit in the car while your children shop. In the car, you have the air conditioning running, your IPad on Pinterest and you nap.

In the desert by the sea...whoda thunk it?

A trip to the grocery store widens the gap between me and the brave souls even further.  I can't find real Fritos or Wolf Brand chili in a can.  How in the hell am I supposed to make Frito Pie? These things matter, these things are what make life liveable.  Little Debbies are no where to be found and the closest thing to an ICEE is freezing a can of coke.

We replace the ICEE with this.

So it seems I am not as adventurous as some may think.  Maybe chucking it all, living in an RV near my mommy and where my children still have access to their mommy is about all I've got.  I have some stuff, just not the right stuff for Mexican living.  I am content with this because what I have is more than enough.

amen

Every two years I look forward to this escape, loving every odd minute of it.  Adios!
