WE ARE GETTING NEW MEXICAN DIGS!
Info Post
Somewhere between day eight and nine Salty and I visited some new build outs on the resort. We were offered a package to buy out our current fractional contract. This offer came with the ability to spend more time here each year in the style of house we currently vacation in and a larger more opulent design.
The new house is closer to the beach, has more bedrooms, an outdoor kitchen and six bathrooms. It will allow us to have more family at one time and that is always fun. It will also allow us two weeks in Mexico
each year instead of every other year.
This excites me very much because Mexico is quickly becoming my artistic muse. Just being here infuses me with all the vibrant colors, smells and feels of the place. The more we venture out, the more I sketch. The ideas come faster here and are more original.
The front courtyard has Talavera pots imbedded into the walls. When painting skulls Talavera greatly influenced my work. I have let my workaholic tendencies lead me away from my work as an artist. I am banking on Mexico the muse leading me back.
The greatest thing about the new digs is that there are no doors that just open and close to the outside. All the doors are telascoping and disappear into the walls. This means there is a constantt sea breeze running the length of the entire house. Where a door or window is in the house can be fully opened to a courtyard, the pool, or a balcony.
While the current house is certainly beautiful the new house is stunning. Heavier Mexican made furniture, a beautiful kitchen and a wowser of an outdoor kitchen. So somebody visiting better know how to cook out there.
This view is taken from the beach side of the house. I am standing just outside on the patio. I love the blues in this living room. The patio below is right behind me.
Hey mom, you get first dibs!
