Info Post

The first house I purchased at Hobby Lobby for $5.99.

I went searching and came across a few glittered numbers at Marshalls.  Too cute.

I toyed withe the idea of building a house out of this.  These were all the rage not
so long ago...until the whole country went Shabby Chic crazy...but, I digress.  I just
had to keep looking.

Just when I thought all was lost (and I could smell the footlong corn dog stand) I saw...IT!
You know what IT is, that find that makes your palm sweaty, your heart race, you totally
forget about the corn dog (not totally, but go with me for dramatic effect), you have to have it.
Then you remember, you have to ask the price!  I walked up slowly, looked at it, shook it a
little, when the shadow fell over me.  Make you a good deal on it, the shadow says. I will
decide that Mr. Shadow, without even looking at him, I say...how much?  He pauses and
says $10.00. I could smell the corn dogs again, hear the bird singing, shoved $10.00 into his
hand then said, I'll be right back to get it.  I did, right after the corn dog.

On the 30 minute ride home my mind was busy refocusing the mantle.  I knew it would change the scale and I would have to rearrange a few of the details.  I was up for the challenge.  Once I got home, the house slid onto the mantle like it was made for the spot!  I took a grandchild vote of those that were there and we decided on the color...

Spooky Gray with black trim.  Things began to fall into place a little more then,
the rats would remain silver dry brushed and instead of making a few more glass
candlesticks to hold the yet to be done hats, I decided to turn two old lamps into
hats stands and that is our next project...see ya Friday!
