Halloween Mantle Project #2/1 Rats

In the original mantle in the catalog who shall not be named, there were two mice in the composition. These two mice are made of cast aluminum with a black/bronze finish. The pair cost a mere $19.00.

I went to the local dollar type store and found these
two cuties. Graveyard Rat the tag says. Each cost one dollar.  I saved $17.00 on this project.

When purchasing items at the dollar store, you have to know how to re-work them a bit.  The rats had three huge ugly whiskers on each side of the nose, which I cut off.  Made them look a little less...ratty.

They also had painted red eyes that had to go.  Next post, painting the rats.
