Info Post
One of the questions people always ask me is "How do you think of this?"  There are several answers to that question.  In the case of this composition, I borrowed inspiration from a popular
catalog.  Often just looking around at what is in store windows, traveling has helped with ideas, and
projects for work with a theme, all go into the creative idea pot. Jot everything down, never leave
your camera at home!

The second question is "How did you do this so quickly?"  This question has a simple straight forward answer...."I didn't."

When choosing to make compositions for holidays or parties, whether it is a tabletop, mantle, or some other
surface, look to what you already have.  I keep pictures of the projects from years past and notes with
individual pictures of items I have stored.  Many items reappear often...pumpkins, other items are often lent to others...daughters.

For seasonal items, I am already roaming around the cheap sources...the dollar stores, flea markets and
Goodwill.  Each of the items in the photo were purchsed recently at the dollar store.  I am already preparing for the November and December mantles.

I no longer decorate the entire house seasonally.  I took a note from the french way of doing vignettes and just do the mantles.  It focuses the composition and proves "less is more" everytime.  We are just under 60
days away from Halloween, plenty of time for you to organize your current stash and get those juices flowing.

The third thing I get a lot from people is "You are so creative."  I gently tell them three things  "Thank you,
but I am probably just a little braver than you and I know where to borrow from!"
