I am almost done with this tutorial! Not only is this the first time I have blogged a really big project, I think it is the first time I was able to keep my project on track...hooray for blogging! I have a hallway project that needs blogging...but that is another day.

This is one of three hats I purchased at the local party store. This hat style seems to be a small top hat. I covered the hat in felt. Using spray glue, not the glue gun because it is too hot...got the blister to prove it, cut felt out and glue on.

My mother, who by the way, is the queen of finding all things odd but oddly useful, found a sort of black netting...and lots of it. She purchased and brought it to me. I cut a length of it off and wrapped it around the hat with a length of it cascading down from the back of the hat. I anchored it with the black felt rose you see here. I made the roses by cutting the felt in a strip, rolling it loosely and then "stretching" it into a rose shape.

I added a large spider that I purchased at the dollar store and glittered it purple.
I added two more roses, feathers from a dollar store feather duster and onto the silver hat stand it went.
